7 year old Hopkinsville boy raises money for local Animal Shelter

A Hopkinsville boy has a huge heart for animals and shattered his own record for raising money for a local pet rescue. Clayton Thieke got the idea to host yard sales from his cousin who raised money for charity with her yard sales in Georgia.

There were a ton of things Clayton could raise money for but he chose Max’s Hope Pet Rescue back in 2020. When he was 5, he raised $2,000 for Max’s Hope. Then in 2021, he raised $4,000. Just wait, it gets better!!

Clayton was talking to Hopkinsville veterinarian Dr. Michael Johnson before the sale, Clayton said his goal this year was to raise $7,000…Dr.  Johnson wanted to help him out so he told Clayton that he would match whatever Clayton raised. This summer Clayton raised $11,000! With Dr. Johnson’s donation, Clayton got to donate $22,000 to Max’s Hope Animal Rescue!
