FORT CAMPBELL, Ky. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – Soldiers from 2nd Brigade Combat Team “STRIKE”, 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault) are scheduled to return home to Fort Campbell Thursday. Family, friends and fellow soldiers will gather at a ceremony at 10 a.m. to welcome the returning soldiers home from their nine-month deployment to Iraq and other areas in Southwest Asia. Welcome Home Ceremonies: What you need to get access to post The unit performed duties as the task force supporting the Combined Joint Forces Land Component Command – Operation Inherent Resolve. Task Force Strike conducted precision surface-to-surface fires; training, equipping and advising the Iraqi security forces to fight and defeat Da’esh; supported a multitude of intelligence and logistical operations for Coalition and Iraqi forces, as well as base security throughout the area of operations.
