2021, REST!

Saw this, where there are different types of rest.  As a matter of fact, if you want to believe the experts, there are seven types.  Physical, mental, sensory, creative, emotional, social, and spiritual.

With a 2 1/2 year old, the physical may be tough but the other six may be in some form doable.  I’ve never been one for all this “experts say” stuff, however 2020 saw my mind getting frazzled.  So my big New Years resolution, if you want to call it that, I just thinking a 2021 goal is to be less frazzled.  I’m a huge news nerd but I’m going to not look at my news apps as much.  Sensory rest, well our daughter helps me out big time with that one, with just looking at leaves on tress, a butterfly or bird for what seems like a lifetime, then she wants to talk about it.  Creative, I know it sounds weird, but my work is that for me.  I’m blessed to have a job where I get to have that creative outlet, thank you Jesus.  Emotional, well back to my daughter saying I love you or just running up and hugging my leg, I soak all those moments up.  Social, this is one where I think in 2021 less social media and more actual conversation, sounds nice, gonna try.  And spiritual.  While I am determined to read all the Bible this year, I’m already sucking wind.  Lord help me.  Seems like everything is having to be done and taking away my time, but I’m saying this as a bit of an open way to hold myself accountable kind of thing, I’m going to get back on that horse and be a bit more bullish when it comes to where my time outside of my family and work are being spent.  Sounds easy now, let’s see how later today goes. lol

Anyway, that’s my 2021 big goal, we are about two weeks into it, who’s with me?
