INSIDE the New Trattoria di Cat at Shelby’s Trio

The second floor of the new Shelby’s Trio on College St in Clarksville is billed as fine Italian dining. One thing you won’t find is traditional lasagna or garlic bread. This is a different kind of Italian.

Trattoria di Cat is a special occasion restaurant. After having chicken at home for days I opted for the shrimp dish. It had capers and ricotta cheese which were more like tiny cubes. The pasta was delicious and as I understand is made fresh at Trattoria di Cat.

But I’m jumping ahead of myself. Before the main course was a house salad that was perfectly blended lightly with the dressing.

The real star of the show for us was the desserts. My husband and I each tried a different dessert so we could taste each one. How could you possibly decide between a tiramisu made with fresh berries and cream or a traditional Italian Limoncello cake?

I hope you can see how gooey and delicious the bottom layer of the Limoncello cake is because, between the consistency of the cake itself and that gooey goodness, it was unbelievable!!

I would seriously go back just to order cake and wine.

It’s wonderful to have yet another choice for fine dining in Clarksville!
