Fruitcake – YES or NO?

Fruitcake – YES or NO?

Every year you see it on the store shelves or perhaps in your office kitchen. It’s on par with the polarizing EGGNOG. We’re talking about FRUITCAKE.

This year I thought it would be fun to pick some up at the store and bring it in for the Beaver staff to try. Well, it’s still sitting there on the kitchen table.

Some responses include:

“I don’t necessarily HATE it.”

“Um, I was not expecting that.”

“I LOVE THIS!” (Actual quote)

The taste is not what I was expecting either. I was expecting more of a moist cake with bits of delicious fresh fruit. This is more like a heavy, dense oil-soaked flour log embedded with various nuts and something that tasted more like jelly candy than fruit. Which could be your JAM. Ok, I’ll see myself out. LOL

Happy Holidays and enjoy your heavy, dense oil-soaked flour log of nuts and candy! It’s not terrible. 🙂
