FREE Christmas Trees at Land Between the Lakes

Before you shop for a Christmas tree, you could bring the family to Land Between the Lakes and cut down your tree for FREE!

All you’ll need is a permit and the park is offering free Christmas tree permits and information including maps and cutting guidelines. Your permit will allow you to cut one cedar tree between Nov. 24 and Dec. 24 in designated areas of the park.

Some of the guidelines are that the tree you’re cutting down MUST BE CEDAR, under 10 feet tall, with a stump of less than 4 inches left behind.

The Christmas Tree permits will be exclusively available online on the Land Between the Lakes website beginning on Nov. 24.

If you love live trees this could be a beautiful family tradition of having a local tree for the holidays while saving money!
