A.I. Writing a Country Song?? Garth’s Thoughts May Surprise You

Artificial Intelligence is everywhere. Creeping up in chat boxes and news stories. So how do you think AI would do in writing a country song? After all, Nashville is the songwriting capital of the world. But songwriting is from the heart. The human heart.  Right?

Last week country radio stations from across the globe gathered at the annual Country Radio Seminar in Nashville. Inevitably the subject of Artificial Intelligence came up on a panel with Garth Brooks. Garth said that if AI can ever write a really GREAT song, he would have to embrace it, saying:

“But if AI program writes a song that kills me and makes me cry, isn’t that what songwriting is all about? If AI gets to that level, I have to be thankful I get to be a fan that one of those songs touches.

Don’t forget your gut, don’t forget what moves you. That’s the gift God gave you.”

So we’ll have to wait and see if SkyNet can write a hit song as well as Nashville can. 🙂
