Trailer for the new “Saved by the Bell” has a joke about an original episode

A trailer for the “Saved by the Bell” reboot is out and it features a new cast, along with Mario Lopez and Elizabeth Berkley, who played AC Slater and Jessie Spano on the original show.  Many of the original cast members are obviously missing in the sequal-esk series.

And at the end, there’s a joke about Jessie’s infamous battle with those caffeine pills….remember that episode?

Check out the trailer and the use of the song “I’m So Excited.”

Jessie, who now works at the school, runs up and slaps the bottle out of his hands.

She says, quote, “At first, they’re so exciting, and then it gets even more exciting, but after that, it’s gets so scary, and in the end, you ruin your girl group’s shot at a recording contract.”

The show will be on the Peacock streaming service, but there’s no date yet.
