Two songwriters from Australia filed a Lawsuit saying the Tim McGraw and Faith Hill song “The Rest Of Our Life” ripped off their song “When I Found You”, which was a hit in Australia in 2016 for an artist named Jasmine Rae.
Tim and Faith didn’t write “The Rest Of Our Life”, but they’re named in the suit, along with the song’s co-writers Ed Sheeran, Snow Patrol’s Johnny McDaid, two others and Arista Records.
The suit claims both songs “explore the same themes of marriage, the passage of time, aging, and the way a romantic relationship protects the speaker against vulnerability.”
