A group representing eight of the biggest chains including AMC Entertainment, Regal Cinemas and Cinemark is getting ready to lure moviegoers back with a reinvention of the spaces. The National Association of Theatre Owners said they know “competition for consumers’ hard-earned dollars is fiercer than ever” and the renovations are a “tangible way” for moviegoers to experience change. The remodels are centered on modernizing theaters and upgrading experiences through projection technology, snacking, new audio equipment, and new seating. It’ll cost about $2-billion to make the changes.
