The humble CD is going by the wayside

I remember back in the day…1984 or 1985, my dad brought home a CD player.  What a sight that was for the music lover in me!  Fast forward to my senior year in high school…i bought my very first CD…The Black Crowes-Shake Your Moneymaker!   Of course, I don’t think I’ve bought a CD since I got my I-phone.

Looks like the days of buying CD’s will be long gone!  Billboard reported that Best Buy  plans to stop selling the compact disc as of July 1, 2018, it’ll no longer selling CD’s in Best Buy stores.

Meanwhile, Target is also dialing back on its CD sales. Although the company isn’t dropping the platform outright, Target struck up a deal where they’ll only pay record distributors for units sold, rather than buying in bulk and hoping for the best.
