“Shut Up Kenny” A great Walker Hayes story!

There’s a song on Walker Hayes’ new album Boom called “Shut Up Kenny.”   This song was inspired by an incident with his wife, Laney….when they first moved to Nashville, Kenny Chesney’s song “Anything But Mine” was all over the radio.  One night, Walker and Laney were in an all out, drag out argument…past the point of talking.  Walker flipped the radio on and Anything but Mine was on the radio.  Walker, not thinking of anything to say, says, “Shut up Kenny!”  Changed the station and the same song was playing on another station.

Now that he and Chesney are actually labelmates, there’s bound to be some real-life interaction between the two artists, right?  The two haven’t crossed paths yet!

As for Walker and Laney, they must have made up because the couple is expecting child #7!
