Monica made a homemade planter box

This was obviously the weekend of projects for me.  I did two projects this weekend, one was a complete failure and the other was complete success!

First, I’ll talk about my failure…Instapot yogurt.  I didn’t do so well, going to have to try again.  I don’t have a yogurt button on my Instapot.  Enough about that!  LOL

The big success came because I needed a place to put my germinated zucchini.  It’s ready to bust out of the container I have it in now.

Saturday, I headed out to look for pallets.  The first place I looked was Rural King on Ft. Campbell.  They have a “free wood” section in the parking lot which consists mostly of pallets.  Saturday was my lucky day because I found  5 or 6 of them!

I get them home and into the garage.

I was very happy because I got to get the power tools out!  I took the saw to the pallets and got them all apart and nails out.  I used part of the pallet that was still kinda assembled…I don’t know if that makes sense.  If you take a look at the pic, you’ll see its like the middle of the pallet.

You can see the rest of the progression and then the finished product.  After I got done, I sanded the outside a little and put some water treatment on it.  So yeah, a free planter box!

Here’s the progress!

It’s not perfect, but I didn’t follow any plans, just pulled it all out of thin air!   I plan on having a few zucchini plants this year!  I’m good to go!

Finished product!
