Lebanon, Tn teen gets suspended after ANTI-bullying video

If I could go back to high school and do it all over again, I would!  BUT, I would be stronger for those that were being bullied and harassed.  I also would have gotten better grades but most of all, stand up for others.  I know a couple years ago, my the 6 year old son was the subject of bullies….I was furious, got it resolved but used it as a learning tool.

A Tennessee high school student’s anti-bullying video has had nearly 600,000 views on YouTube and a suspension for making the video.

A Lebanon High School student Emily Gipson said administrators accused her of trying to incite violence and gave her a 2 day in-school suspension for the video.

The video was inspired by a classmate’s October suicide.  Emily asks students to treat each other better. The video contains neither profanity nor calls for direct action.

Her message was not just directed at students but the harshest words in Gipson’s speech were directed at school administration.

I say good for her, it’s a new way of standing up for those who can’t and taking a stand to those who just turn away from that type of behavior.

What do you think of the video?

-Monica
