Lake Mead in Las Vegas holds a ton of secrets!

So, I am fascinated by treasure hunting!  Whether it’s under water diving, metal detecting, magnet fishing…whatever the activity to find treasures…I’m super fascinated! Sometimes, the treasure hunter comes across something that shouldn’t be there, like a gun or knife and sometimes, more horrifying!  Here’s one I’ve been following for awhile…Lake Mead in Las Vegas is at record level lows. As the water disappears, the more mysteries and treasures are exposed.

Monday, Lake Mead’s water level is 1,049.66 feet. This is 179.34 feet below what’s called the “full pool,” or the highest the water level can get because it is a man-made reservoir. According to the Bureau of Reclamation, Lake Mead is only 30% full at this time.

Earlier this year, some boaters found a barrel that contained human remains. Authorities say the barrel may have been underwater for as long as four decades before the receding water line led to its discovery.

Rumor has it, some of these remains may be tied to the mob.  Who knows, right?

Then, there are the boats!  So many sunken boats!

Then, an airplane?!?! YES, AN AIRPLANE!

There are so many other mysteries that this lake holds. Will all her secrets be revealed one day?  Who knows, but this lake is holding a ton of secrets!
