The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission is searching for the snake in the area of the 900 block of Northeast 9th Street near Ocala Tuscawilla Park.
Monica’s thought: I’ve been to Tuscalwilla Park, it’s a pretty cool place in Ocala Florida, but not with a cobra on the loose.
The owner of the cobra contacted the agency at about 11:15 p.m. Monday and said his 24-inch-long cobra had escaped.
Monica’s thought: I think he should have named the cobra Houdini, not only is the cobra a master of disappearing but it is also an escape artist!
Authorities from the Ocala Police Department and Marion County Fire Rescue also assisted in the search. The authorities notified nearby residents of the escaped cobra.
Monica’s thought: I’m sure if I was a resident near the escape, I’d need to change my pants and unmentionables.
People in the area should use caution until the HIGHLY VENOMOUS COBRA has been captured. Cobras are highly venomous and will strike out if they feel threatened.
Monica’s thought: Who owns a creature that can KILL you with just one strike? Not like you can take the cobra out of the cage and throw a tennis ball for it or cuddle up on the couch with a cobra.
The snake’s owner, Michael Kennedy, was cited for not immediately reporting the snake’s escape.
Monica’s thought: I’m gonna go out on a limb and say Micheal has never cuddled up on the couch with his VENOMOUS pet!
Monica’s last thought: I wonder if the cobra is on it’s way to Disney World…heck it’s only an hour and a half drive from Ocala. It will only take it a week or two if it slithers all way to the happiest place on earth. Maybe all that happy will make it a better adjusted cobra and you eventually will be able to cuddle on the couch with it! Just a thought.
