Ice and Snow a possibility this weekend

CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – The National Weather Service in Nashville has issued a Hazardous Weather Outlook statement for Clarksville-Montgomery County ahead of possible wintry weather over the weekend.

Moderate to heavy rain and a few thunderstorms are expected across Middle Tennessee on Saturday, with rainfall totals ranging from 1 to 3 inches. Flooding is possible in some areas.

Rain is expected to changeover to light snow late Saturday night into Sunday morning across much of Middle Tennessee as temperatures rapidly fall below freezing. Light snow accumulations ranging from a dusting up to one inch are possible, although these amounts remain uncertain.

In addition, any standing water on area roadways, especially bridges and overpasses, could freeze and cause travel difficulties on Sunday.

Very cold temperatures are expected on Monday morning, with lows dropping into the teens and possibly the upper single digits. Wind chills may fall below zero in some areas.
