I lost this 23 years ago and will be reunited with it in a couple days!

Picture it, Macon, Ga. 1998.  I was just a rookie in radioland. I was renting a room from a friend while I waited for the apartment that I had rented became available.  So, there were a couple things I didn’t want in the storage unit while I waited for that said apartment.  One day, I was moving a box that had a bunch of “special” things. Like a basketball key chain my grandma gave me, a Snoopy watch that I had since kindergarten, my class ring from high school, a few necklaces and other little keepsakes.

To this day, it’s crazy , I don’t even know how on earth this happened!  My high school class ring fell out of the box and onto the ground.  The ring was in a ring box in a big box when it fell out.

Well, my friend had 2 dogs and I’m thinking the dogs got a hold of the box because I retraced my steps and didn’t see that ring box and the class ring was gone.  We all looked all over the yard that day to no avail!  I was devastated. I think I cried for a week because it was special to me.

Fast forward to 2021….yesterday to be exact…I get a message on Facebook telling me my friend had found my class ring doing some yard work and wanted to get it back to me. These are the pictures they sent me on FB Messenger.  I honestly cried when I saw these pics!

In 23 years, can you imagine how many times it’s been run over by the mower?  How many storms it’s been through? It looks pretty worn down around the stone where it says the name of my school.

Happy ending for my class ring!  I seriously doubt it will ever fit on my finger again but to know I have it, means the world.

I am super grateful to my friend for getting it back to me!
