How did you do in the storm? Any damage? What did you do to entertain yourself and the kids without power?

My family and I started Saturday excited because we were getting stuff done!  Grocery shopping, had to get some stuff from Sam’s.  We got up a little early to get a start!  We were going to do all this stuff, watch a little football then we were going to take my 10 year old and his bff to shoot up zombies at Clarksville Zombie Hunters.

We got home from grocery shopping about 2pm.  We put all the groceries away and I ran over to my old neighbors house to get a package she had put together for us.  The package had the MOST DELICIOUS cupcakes in it!  I get back home about 2:45.  As I was driving back, the skies looked really ominous and it had started raining!  I went in the house and looked out the window and saw the tops of trees practically bent over touching the ground!  The wind was whipping like crazy!  I saw the neighbors Halloween decorations fly by!  We had a couple Halloween decoration casualties too.

I ran into the house got my 10 year old and dogs in the laundry room (it’s the center of the house and no windows).  I ran and got my necessities, keys and purse and put them in the laundry room.

After all was said and done, we got really lucky and only lost a few Halloween decorations and power.

We’ve been without power since about 3:15ish on Saturday!

Thanks to the folks at CDE for working as fast and safely as possible!  I know you probably have a family without power and storm damage in your own yard, but thanks for taking care of Clarksville.

So, let’s just say it was a time for me to catch up on reading…by flashlight!  My reading material for the weekend!

We had plenty of light!  We  had the soft glow of candles and solar outside lights!  Had to get creative with the light!

Sunday morning we woke up and started the yard cleaning process…some of the things I found that I didn’t see on Saturday.

This is the light over the garage!

Watch the video for what happened to the basketball hoop!

I’m going to have to go get more groceries at some point today.  I guess this is a good reason to clean out the fridge!

I hope everyone is ok!

Yes, no power is inconvenient, but let’s just say it could have been worse!  Let’s count our blessings!
