Headed to Mardi Gras? A step by step guide on how NOT to get arrested

Police in New Orleans are very lenient during Mardi Gras, but according to the “Times-Picayune,” there are a few things that could get you arrested. So if you’re headed for the Big Easy, take note of this list!

1. First, act like an adult and you’ll be treated like one.

2.  Don’t get in a fight. You will probably be arrested.

3.  Don’t hit a policeman or his horse. You can pet the horse, but ask the policeman riding it first if it is okay.

4.  Don’t attempt to return to a bar if you’ve been kicked out of it. There are plenty of other nightspots that will take your hard-earned money.

5.  Don’t bring your gun(s) to Mardi Gras. City and state laws prohibit carrying a gun if you’re drinking, going into a bar, or standing along the parade route.

6…HERE’S THE BIGGIE!!  Never drink and drive!!  DON’T BE STUPID!

7.  Police expect to see intoxicated people, but the ones that are way beyond intoxicated could be sent to an area hospital. Rules are if someone is considered a danger to themselves or others, they will be taken away.

8.  And don’t take your clothes off!  Have some dignity!
