George Straits wife makes a rare appearance in his new video “Codigo”

The video for George Strait’s new song “Codigo” is made even more special by a rare guest appearance from his wife Norma.
This feel-good video takes you on a trip down to Mexico, where Strait’s Codigo brand of tequila is made, bringing us into the agave fields in between shots of people dancing and enjoying life among the beautiful backdrop.

Norma makes a few brief but significant appearances.  She makes another quick appearance at the end of the video, dancing with her husband alongside many other happy couples as the sun sets.

Though they’ve been married for nearly 50 years, the Straits have kept their relationship mostly out of the public eye throughout George’s high-profile music career, which spans more than 30 years and includes more No. 1 hits than any other artist in country music history. The two met in high school and dated off and on in their youth before eloping in Mexico in 1971.
