Christmas lights at my house

Merry Christmas! The holiday season has arrived! It arrived with a bang! I usually wait till about a week to 2 weeks into December to decorate. I figured, since 2020 was kind of upside down, I’d make things more peaceful by decorating for Christmas early this year! I want 2020 to be over but still hoping for the best in 2021. Anybody else feel this way? I figured if I wanted 2020 to pass by quick, I’d relish the happiest time of the year by decorating early.

Here is the front of the house

Then I figured, every tree needs love, so my little tree out front, I’ve lovingly dubbed, Zelda, got a few Christmas balls and a candy cane. I’ll tell you the story of Zelda…I had a mimosa tree that did not come back in the spring for some reason, so I found Zelda on sale at Rural King and decided I’d take the mimosa out. It wasn’t really a big tree, so I got the hand saw, Sawzall and shovel out took out the dead mimosa tree and planted Zelda! Here is Zelda, decked out in Christmas.

I got totally squirrelly and decked out the back deck for my back yard neighbors to enjoy too.

Now, for the tree! I have decorations on it from grandparents, parents, friends, hand made by my 11 year old from years past and some we’ve bought as a family.  The tree already has a few presents under it…exciting!

Finally, my hobby is working with unused pallets I find around town. I’ll get better, I just started this hobby!  My Christmas decoration contribution…

I’d love to see how you decorated for Christmas.
