This quarantine and pandemic have been hard on the married life, Kacey Musgraves and Ruston Kelly are calling it quits after two-and-a-half years of marriage. They said they made the decision together, they’re still friends, they still love each other but “it just didn’t work out.”
Here’s their statement: “With heavy but hopeful hearts we [put] our thoughts into the air about what’s happening. We believe that we were put into each other’s lives for a divine reason and have both changed each other infinitely for the better.
“The love we have for each other goes beyond the relationship we’ve shared. It’s a soul connection that can never be erased. We’ve made this painful decision together, a healthy decision that comes after a long period of trying the best we can.
“Though we are parting ways in marriage, we will remain true friends for the rest of our lives. We hold no blame, anger, or contempt for each other, and we ask for privacy and positive wishes for us both as we learn how to navigate through this.”
They’re both 31. Kacey and Ruston met at a songwriter’s showcase in 2016, and were married in 2017. She credits him for inspiring her Grammy-winning album “Golden Hour”.
