One caller said, “You’ve got a vehicle running southbound in northbound lanes on Ellington Parkway, he’s south of Hart.”  The caller also explained to the 911 dispatcher, the wrong way driver was traveling in the fast lane.

Another caller said “it was driving like there was nothing wrong and it almost hit me head-on.”

Sam Hunt issued an apology on Friday saying, “Wednesday night I decided to drive myself home after drinking at a friend’s show in downtown Nashville. It was a poor and selfish decision and I apologize to everyone who was unknowingly put at risk and let down by it. It won’t happen again.”

Fans took the opportunity to hit up the comment section with their thoughts. Some gave him props for admitting he was wrong and vowing to never do it again . . . while others called him out for endangering people’s lives.

Some jumped on the chance to tell lame jokes using his song titles. Stuff like, “Now his ‘Kinfolks’ are disappointed,” and “You should’ve had a ‘House Party’.”

Riley Green is pretty good friends with Sam, both have ties to Alabama, so somebody asked for his take. He said it’s an “awful thing,” and he’s glad that nobody got injured. He also pointed out how famous people have to be more careful than the “average Joe.”
