CLARKSVILLE, TN – The YMCA of Middle Tennessee is responding to the growing demand for childcare in Montgomery County and expanding its before-and-after school care programs from 16 to 19 Montgomery County schools. This will enable the YMCA to serve an additional 103 children, taking the total number of childcare participants to 891.

The newly opened sites are located in the following schools:

  • Glenellen Elementary, 825 Needmore Road
  • Kirkwood Elementary, 2700 Rossview Road
  • Northeast Elementary, 3705 Trenton Road

As one of the region’s single-largest childcare providers, the YMCA cares for more than 4,000 kids in 89 schools every day across the mid-state.

“We are excited to partner with these schools to assist families who need access to affordable and quality childcare services,” said Jill Tramel, the Y’s senior vice president of Youth Development. “We realize many families struggle to find childcare, so this is an important service we are proud to offer to meet a growing demand for care in the community.”

Fun Company, the YMCA’s before- and after-school care program operates in schools across four counties: Davidson, Montgomery, Rutherford and Sumner. The nonprofit also currently operates one preschool in East Nashville at the Margaret Maddox Family YMCA.
