Work week weather: Sunny skies, but cold with possible freezing temperatures

CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – It will be a week of sunny skies, but while it may look nice, it will be much cooler.

This week it will be sunny and clear. However, there is a Freeze Watch in effect late Monday night through Tuesday morning, with temperatures falling to about 26, according to the National Weather Service.

Highs Monday and Tuesday will be in the low 50s, but temperatures will gradually get warmer as we progress through the week. Temperatures will reach close to 70 by Friday.

Here’s the day-by-day outlook.

Monday: Sunny, with a high near 58. Northwest winds of 5 to 15 mph with gusts as high as 20 mph.

Monday night: Clear, with a low around 26. Northwest wind 5 to 10 mph.

Tuesday: Widespread frost before 8 a.m. Otherwise, sunny, with a high near 51. Northwest wind 5 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph.

Tuesday night: Widespread frost after midnight. Otherwise, clear, with a low around 27. Northwest wind around 5 mph becoming calm in the evening.

Wednesday: Widespread frost before 8 a.m. Otherwise, sunny, with a high near 55. Light west northwest wind becoming west 5 to 10 mph in the morning.

Wednesday night: Mostly clear, with a low around 30. West wind around 5 mph becoming calm.

Thursday: Sunny, with a high near 62. Light south southwest wind becoming southwest 10 to 15 mph in the morning. Winds could gust as high as 20 mph.

Thursday night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 38.

Friday: Areas of frost. Otherwise, sunny, with a high near 70.

Friday night: Mostly clear, with a low around 44.
