CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – A woman who assaulted a Clarksville Police sergeant with bear spray last month was arrested Sunday in Lebanon, Tennessee.

On Oct. 9, CPD officers responded to the T.J. Maxx on Wilma Rudolph Boulevard after a group of women were reported to be shoplifting. A police sergeant approached one of the women in the parking lot, and she sprayed him with bear spray. The three women fled in a black Dodge Avenger.

The vehicle was quickly located in Nashville. With the assistance of the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department, the vehicle and one of the suspects were located and taken into custody.

Police say 25-year-old Daniell Pitt of Nashville was the one who used bear spray on the officer, and she was seen on video surveillance cameras as well as the sergeants’ body-worn camera.
