Weekend weather: Chance of severe storms Friday and Saturday in Clarksville

CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – There’s a risk of severe storms this weekend in Clarksville with strong to damaging winds and heavy downpours.

While there’s a slight chance the storms could come Thursday, the higher chance of storms if Friday and Saturday, according to the National Weather Service.

Weather should calm down Saturday night.

Here’s the day-by-day outlook:

  • Friday: A chance of showers and thunderstorms between 7am and noon, then showers and possibly a thunderstorm after noon. High near 85. Calm wind becoming west southwest around 5 mph in the morning. Chance of precipitation is 100%. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.
  • Friday night: Showers and thunderstorms likely before 10pm, then showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm between 10pm and 1am, then a chance of showers and thunderstorms after 1am. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 70. Southwest wind around 5 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%.
  • Saturday: Showers and thunderstorms likely, mainly between 1pm and 4pm, then showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm after 4pm. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 83. West wind 5 to 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70%.
  • Saturday night: A 50 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 67. West southwest wind around 5 mph.
  • Sunday: A 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms before 1pm. Mostly sunny, with a high near 84. West wind around 5 mph.
  • Sunday night: Mostly clear, with a low around 65. West wind around 5 mph becoming calm.
