UPDATE: RV pulling Mini Cooper catches fire on Interstate 24, traffic returning to normal

Update, 3 p.m.: Traffic is mostly back to normal in Clarksville, with some slowness between Exits 8 and 11.

Update, 2 p.m.: Traffic is moving slowly along the interstate, but a secondary wreck near mile marker 3 has traffic further congested.

Previously:

CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – A vehicle fire near Exit 11 has eastbound traffic backed up for miles in Clarksville.

At 10:45 a.m., Clarksville Fire Rescue was at mile marker 10, where an RV was towing a vehicle behind it and the engine of the RV caught fire, according to CFR.

Two occupants were able to pull the vehicles over and safely exit the RV. Montgomery County EMS checked out the couple and no injuries are reported.

THP has all eastbound lanes blocked until further notice. At 12:15 p.m., traffic was backed up past Exit 4 to mile marker 2.

CFR units from Stations 12, 2 and 9 responded.
