Suspect captured in slaying of Clarksville woman in Electrolux parking lot

CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – A Dickson County sex offender wanted in the slaying of a Clarksville woman this week was captured Friday in Mount Juliet, east of Nashville.

Anthony Terrell Brown, 38, is now in custody, according to the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation, which had added him to its Most Wanted list.

Brown was wanted by Springfield Police and TBI on a charge of first-degree murder, suspected of fatally shooting a Clarksville woman in the parking lot of the Electrolux manufacturing facility Monday night.

Springfield police responded just before 7 p.m. to a report of gunshots fired outside Electrolux on Industrial Drive, Clarksville Now news partner WKRN, Channel 2 reported.

When officers arrived, they located Heather Kirkwood, 45, on the ground with gunshot wounds. She was pronounced dead on the scene.

On Friday, Mt. Juliet Police Department officers received a tip that about an SUV being driven by a wanted fugitive, according to police.

Officers intercepted the vehicle on Mt. Juliet Road near Lebanon Road and arrested Brown.‬

Brown is listed on the Tennessee Sexual Offender Registry as a violent offender, convicted of aggravated rape in 2001.
