With hundreds of homes damaged in Saturday’s storm that swept over Clarksville, employees of Southern Roofing and Renovations have been out joining the rest of the community volunteering their skills with repairs and cleanup.

Owner Oswaldo Barajas said they have 35 boots on the ground responding to customers, and with trusted local service.

“Our local people need to stay educated on who you’re utilizing for these services, ensuring that they are local and you know what their capabilities are and what their warranties are. That includes their workmanship warranty,” Barajas said.

His team offers complimentary inspections of damage, whether its extensive work or missing shingles. When the next storm comes through, damage could get worse, or the homeowner could fall out of the 12-month window to file a claim with the insurance company.

“We’re staffed with 35-plus people right now continuing to help people within the community, and we are capable of getting people in for scheduling within the week,” Barajas said.

Southern Roofing and Renovations has Platinum membership with Owens Corning, which only about 3 percent of contractors in the U.S. have, and that allows them to offer a 50-year warranty with the roofing systems they put on. A veteran-owned business, they specialize in working with insurance companies, making sure homeowners maximize their claim.
