UPDATE: 13-year-old boy killed in shooting in north Clarksville

Update, 6:50 a.m. Saturday: The person shot Friday night on Oakmont Drive has died, according to Clarksville Police.

At 6:35 p.m. Friday, police responded to a residence on Oakmont for a shooting that had already occurred. When they arrived they found a 13-year-old boy with a gunshot wound to his chest.

He was transported to Blanchfield Army Community Hospital (BACH) and was pronounced deceased. Detectives with the Special Operations Homicide Unit and Crime Scene Unit responded to the scene and this is still an ongoing investigation.

Images of the suspect vehicle, a dark SUV, were captured on security cameras and investigators are asking anyone with information regarding, this incident, information about the vehicle, or the driver to contact CPD immediately. Detectives do not believe this was a random act, the individuals involved were somewhat familiar with one another.

CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – Police are investigating a shooting on Oakmont Drive, just south of the state line in Clarksville.

At 7:15 p.m., police were on the scene, according to Lt. Charles Gill.

No details have been released. Police are asking residents to cooperate and remain in their homes so police can collect evidence.
