For his Eagle Scout project, Peter Lopez built a “Denver prop” for the St. Bethlehem Volunteer Fire Department, which has decided to share this prop with all of Montgomery County fire departments.

The Denver drill scenario starts with a firefighter down in a closet-sized space below a window, according to the St. B VFD. Two firefighters must enter through the window and pass the downed firefighter back out to a firefighter on the outside. The Denver drill was designed in response the death of Engineer Mark Langvardt (Denver, Colorado, Fire Department) in 1992, and it is taught in departments across the country.

Peter, with Troop 562, has now completed the Eagle project and all other requirements for his Eagle badge, and he will have his Eagle ceremony in October.
