CLARKSVILLE, TN – The Clarksville-Montgomery County Public Library will make a complete return to full services on Monday, Aug. 2. Along with that will come a host of new programs including additional story times, new adult DIY programs and open studios, family craft times, a weekly LEGO program, Sunday Funday events and more.
Things kick off this week in a soft launch of sorts with the Scholastic Book Fair, Monday, July 19-Friday, July 23, according to a news release. The book fair is open daily 9 a.m.-5 p.m.
“We are very excited here at the library to return completely to our full-service model beginning in August,” said Library Director Martha Hendricks.
“The Youth Services Department, which is the heart of the library, will use this opportunity to increase its offerings, which will now include daily story times and also certain programs such as our very popular LEGO program happening each week, rather than monthly. To simplify things for the public, the age group of children’s programs offered goes up, from toddler to teen from Monday through Friday. Library users will always be able to find a great program going on at the library no matter what day it is.”
The library had successful programs at the Downtown Commons over the summer, and it will continue some of that programming there in the fall, the release said.
“COVID was a pause that allowed us to learn new ways to transform lives while remaining dedicated to keeping our patrons and staff safe and well-served,” Hendricks said. “We have re-energized our line-up and our service and are looking forward to creating new connections through fun and educational opportunities, which is what the library is all about.”
