CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – (CLARKSVILLENOW) Close to 280 runners and walkers took to the roadways surrounding Beachaven Winery Saturday night for the Sixth Annual Bubba Johnson Memorial Road Race.

The race featured a 1-mile Fun Run and 5K with awards given out for First, Second & Third place finishers in different age groups. The race even featured a category for dogs, with medals given to the fastest male and female dogs in the 5K race.

Deputy “Bubba” Johnson lost his life in 2014 in a vehicle accident while on duty with the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office.

All proceeds from the event helps provide funds for the families of officers killed or seriously injured in the line of duty.
