CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – Philomena Egyptian is Clarksville’s new Egyptian restaurant, and owner Ayman Saydhom told Clarksville Now it’s a dream come true for him and his family.

Saydhom grew up on a farm in Egypt, and throughout his childhood, he developed a passion for cooking. As he got older, that passion became a dream of opening his own restaurant.

When the time came, Saydhom and his wife moved from Egypt to Nashville to provide their children with a better education. After spending some time in Nashville, the family packed their belongings and made the move to Clarksville. Saydhom said they came to Clarksville because it has more of a calm, relaxing lifestyle and crime has been on the decline.

Saydhom said that after arriving in Clarksville, he saw the lack of cultural restaurants and wanted to provide authentic Egyptian food. He and his family decided it was time to open that restaurant.

What’s on the menu

Philomena Egyptian is at 1467 Tiny Town Road, Suite D, and they provide a wide range of items such as gyros, chicken and beef shawarma, falafel, chicken and beef kebabs, kofta, lamb shank and macaroni bechamel.

Philomena Egyptian also offers desserts such as baklava, cheesecake, tiramisu, kunafa and basbousa.

Saydhom hopes that Philomena Egyptian will consistently stay busy allowing for the opportunity to continue to build their staff and for the chance to create a chain of restaurants. One of the restaurants Saydhom has in mind includes a menu that caters to all kinds of cultures from around the world.

They offer in-house dining and catering services to customers, which includes special events with hundreds of people.

Philomena Egyptian is open Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Then, on Sunday, they are open from 11:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. They plan to add breakfast at a later date.

Philomena Egyptian can be reached by calling 931-802-2325 or emailing PhilomenaEgyptian@gmail.com.
