CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – A missing teenage girl who was found in the Netherlands has been returned safely to Clarksville.
According to Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office Public Information Officer Sandra Brandon, Margaret Lee was brought safely back to Tennessee Wednesday.
Her family has asked for privacy at this time.
Lee, 16, was reported missing on April 1, 2017. When the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office originally reported her case, investigators believed she was trying to leave the country but did not specify a destination.
According to the BBC, Lee flew to Amsterdam to meet with someone she met online. She reportedly took her sister’s passport to fly there after her family took hers away.
