CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – A man shot by Clarksville Police last Thursday during a suicidal subject call on Durrett Drive died of his injuries on Saturday.
On Tuesday, the man was identified as 33-year-old Andre Luiz Snyder, according to a news release from the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation.
At 12:12 a.m. on May 27, Clarksville Police were called to Durrett Drive about a person threatening suicide, according to the 911 log.
Durrett Drive is off Fort Campbell Boulevard in north Clarksville, near the state line.
When police arrived at the 3300 block of Durrett, they made contact with Snyder in the back yard of a residence, according to police spokesman Detective Michael Patterson.
“The officers began talking to the subject with the goal of de-escalating the situation. During this time, the subject produced a weapon, causing an officer to fire,” Patterson said.
After the shooting, Snyder was transported to the hospital, where he died two days later.
The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation is heading up the investigation into the incident.
