CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW)-  Journey’s Eye Studio has created a space to give visitors and new residents a  proper Clarksville welcome.

Journey’s Eye Studio is a store, intimate music venue, fine art gallery, and houses industrial in-house customs creations including lighting and furniture, hand-chosen mid-century furniture, and gifts. They are also now a welcome center.

The downtown business recently launched “DESTINATION: Clarksville, our community Downtown Welcome Center, ” a permanent fixture in their unique boutique.

The  Downtown Clarksville welcome center is open 7 days a week and offers information and hospitality in a fun, creative setting.

“We’ve been welcoming people for a long time and have been doing small tours and helping people get settled,” said Jody Isaacs, owner of Journey’s Eye Studio. “We’ve been the basic welcoming committee. It hit me one day, we should officially be a welcome center.”

The welcome center offers locally-designed souvenirs such as postcards, greeting cards, magnets, mementos, T-shirts and other clothing promoting Clarksville.

There’s a space in the store with tables and chairs for meetings with business providers and to conduct other business. Hospitality includes filtered water for visitors to fill their water bottles and coffee.

Besides local brochures, they also make available local business resources.

“We are creating a list of businesses for people moving in, everything from baby sitters to plumbers,” Issacs included. “We have our QR readers for the main sources of information in Clarksville. We want people to have access to all the information. There have been ways to get info but no hand-holding welcome. We made the decision to be that. It makes a huge difference for someone to show them why they should stick around.”
