Heat Advisory: Highs in mid-90s, with heat indexes up to 110 through Wednesday

CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – Once again, with highs in the mid-90s to start the week and heat indexes expected up to 110 degrees, a Heat Advisory has been issued through Wednesday at 8 p.m.

Hot temperatures and high humidity may cause heat illnesses, according to the National Weather Service.

“Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors,” the NWS said. “Take extra precautions when outside. Wear lightweight and loose fitting clothing. Try to limit strenuous activities to early morning or evening. Take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke.”

Here’s the day-by-day outlook:

  • Sunday: A slight chance of showers and thunderstorms before 3pm, then a chance of showers and thunderstorms after 4pm. Sunny, with a high near 94. Heat index values as high as 106. West southwest wind 5 to 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%.
  • Sunday night: A 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms before 7pm. Partly cloudy, with a low around 76. West wind around 5 mph becoming calm in the evening.
  • Monday: A 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms after 1pm. Mostly sunny, with a high near 95. Calm wind becoming northwest around 5 mph in the morning.
  • Monday night: Patchy fog after midnight. Otherwise, partly cloudy, with a low around 76. Northwest wind around 5 mph becoming calm.
  • Tuesday: Patchy fog before 8am. Otherwise, sunny, with a high near 96. Calm wind becoming north northeast around 5 mph in the afternoon.
  • Tuesday night: Mostly clear, with a low around 76. Calm wind.
  • Wednesday: A 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms after 1pm. Sunny, with a high near 96. Calm wind becoming northeast around 5 mph in the afternoon.
  • Wednesday night: A 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly before 1am. Partly cloudy, with a low around 75.
