CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW)- A Clarksville man who killed a woman in a DUI wreck will spend 10 years in prison.
Bradley Vezeau, 29, was charged with vehicular homicide and several DUI-related charges for the death of 49-year-old Judy Tapia who was killed when Bradley’s car collided with her van at the intersection of Peachers Mill Road and 101st Airborne Division Parkway on June 27, 2018.
Wreck investigators said Vezeau’s 2007 Toyota Avalon failed to stop for a red light on Peachers Mill Road and crashed into a 1999 Dodge van driven by Christopher Conroy. Tapia, a passenger in the van, was ejected from the vehicle and died from her injuries.
On March 2, 2020, Vezeau pleaded guilty to vehicular homicide, DUI 3rd and two counts felony reckless endangerment.
Following a hearing on June 3, Vezeau was sentenced by Judge Jill Ayers to 10 years in the Tennessee Department of Corrections on the charge of vehicular homicide by intoxication. He has his driver’s license revoked for 10 years.
He was sentenced to 11 years and 29 months for DUI 3rd, and two years for two counts of felony reckless endangerment. The sentences for these counts will be served concurrent, or at the same time, as his 10 year sentence.
He did get permission to go to rehabilitation (if accepted) before being transported to prison facility.
Tapia left behind four children and four grandchildren.
