UPDATE: Police ID man killed in single-vehicle crash on Bypass

Update, 12:16 p.m.: The driver in Monday night’s single-vehicle crash was operating a 2018 Freightliner box truck and was heading west on the 41A Bypass at approximately 9 p.m., according to Clarksville Police.

The truck left the roadway near Apostolic Lighthouse Church, traveling down an embankment and striking a tree.

The driver, identified as 53 year old Robert Burns, died at the scene as a result of his injuries.

CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – One person was killed in a single-vehicle wreck on the 41A Bypass Monday night.

At about 9 p.m., the vehicle, with only the driver inside, went down an embankment and struck a tree near Apostolic Lighthouse Church, according to Clarksville Police Detective Michael Patterson.

Emergency Medical Services confirmed the driver was killed, according to Clarksville Now news partner Dash 10 Media.

No further information was released.
