Austin Peay’s Jack Alexander Signs with the Kansas City Royals

So Austin Peay Has another player going to the pros with former catcher Jack Alexander signing a contract as an undrafted free agent with the Kansas City Royals. It comes as a bit of a shock to some as Alexander had planned on finishing up his collegiate career as the predicted starting catcher for the University of Tennessee next season a position that the Vols were desperately looking to fill. In a quote obtained by Clarksville Now, Alexander said, ” I’m looking forward to this opportunity with the Kansas City Royals organization.” ” I am ready to start my professional career and I cant wait to get to work and start playing.” Alexander absolutely killed it for the Governors last year leading the team in multiple offensive and defensive categories so this is Well deserved for the 22 year old from Belton Missouri. It does however leave alot of unanswered questions for The University of Tennessee and their catching situation a team that was ranked number 1 in the nation most of this past season.
