Hometown Hero Rules


This contest is being conducted concurrently and simultaneously with radio stations in the Clarksville, TN area affiliated with the FIVE STAR MEDIA GROUP and listeners of said stations will then be competing to win the same prize.

All nominations will be accepted on ClarksvilleNow.com. For two weeks, July 1 through July 14th, you can nominate your Hometown Hero by logging onto Beaver1003.com, Q108.com, Z975.com, MySunny991.com, Rewind943.com, or ESPNClarksville.com and filling out the application and tell us why they’re deserving of a prize. No mechanically reproduced or automated entries permitted. Use of any automated system to participate is prohibited and will result in disqualification and all such entries will be deemed void. The top three finalists will be selected on July 15, 2016 by a panel of judges comprised of Five Star Media Group staff. Finalists will be notified via email and phone call on July 16 of their finalist designation. Judging will be based on three indicators: impact of service to the community, longevity of service, unique or compelling participation in community action. The finalists will then be up on ClarksvilleNow.com for the community to vote through the online platform UPickem for whom they feel is deserving of the Grand Prize – $400! Listeners can vote from Monday, July 25  through Friday, August 5 at 11:59PM with the winner being selected August 6, 2016 based on highest number of votes and meeting the qualifications of the contest. Winner will be notified via email and phone call. Voters must be registered members of UPICKEM. Entrants must include all required registration information to register and agree to terms for UPICKEM.

One entry per person. Listeners can vote once per day during the voting round. Voting is limited to one vote per verified email address. If an entrant receives irregular votes from the same user or users, including but not limited to, votes generated by a robotic, programmed, script, macro, other automated means or other source, Five Star Media Group reserves the right to disqualify the entrant in its sole discretion. Entrants and winners will be chosen at the sole discretion of [List each individual station per promotional mention and website]. More than entry per person may disqualify all entries by that individual.

No purchase necessary. Prizes are not transferrable or redeemable for cash. Winners will be responsible for state and federal taxes.

Five Star Media contests are open to those 18 or older have not won anything on Five Star Media in the past 30 days or any prize valued at $600 or more in the past 6 months. Only one winner per household is permitted within 30 days after a household has a winner. Any prize awarded to an ineligible listener will be deemed null and void, and an alternate eligible winner may be named.

Employees of Five Star Media, SAGA COMMUNICATIONS OF TUCKESSEE, and its ultimate parent company, Saga Communications, Inc., their advertising agencies, affiliates, contest sponsors, employees and immediate families of each, and employees of all media of mass communication within a one hundred mile radius of the Five Star Media main studio are not eligible to win any contest. Immediate family includes the spouse, great-grandparents, grandparents, parents, brothers, sisters, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren of the employee and his/her spouse. This also includes individuals for whom the employee is current legal guardian.
