The Grand Marshals for the 2024 Black Patch Festival have been chosen. The Princeton Optimist Club looks for individuals who have made a significant contribution to the community through their dedication to agriculture, youth or the advancement of our community.
We feel this year we have once again found 2 community members that fit that description and have committed their lives for the benefit of our community.
Rhonda Jewel is the 4-H agent in Caldwell County and spends endless hours and energy working with youth through the 4-H programs and other programs. She taught school before moving to the 4-H position.
George Pettit is a life long advocate of agriculture both locally and across the state. He continues to be involved in farming and keeping up to date with the latest developments in the agricultural field and shares his deep knowledge with others to help their farms. George has been active in youth programs for years serving at the State President of the Kentucky Association of FFA in the year 1960.
We congratulate each of these individuals and thank them for their continued contributions to our community. More about them will be shared in the weeks to come as we lead up to the Black Patch 24. They will be leading the Black Patch Parade scheduled for Friday September 6th at 5:00 pm through downtown Princeton.
