Beaver Country Junior Star Rules


Beginning April 6, 2013 through May 25, 2013, WVVR will conduct the Beaver Country Junior Star contest, in which one person will win $500.  Entrants Must be 10 or older the day they audition and 17 or younger on Saturday, May 25 to be eligible to participate.  All entrants must be accompanied by a legal guardian.  Proof of age will be required.

Beaver Country Junior Star will consist of 2 rounds.

Round 1 –

Contestants wishing to try out for Beaver Country Junior Star must attend one of the scheduled Audition Stops. At each stop, contestants will be required to sing no more than 60 seconds of a song acapella (NO BACKGROUND MUSIC OR BACKGROUND VOCALS). Judges designated by The Beaver 100.3 FM will score each contestant based on vocal ability on a scale of 1-10, with 10 being most favorable. Judges may vary at each Audition Stop. The 4 entrants with the highest cumulative score from each Audition Stop will move on to round 2. If there is a tie amongst contestants, judges’ discussion will determine those that will move on to the next round.  Contestants not in the top 4 may attempt to try out at multiple audition stops. Contestants MUST arrive to register at each audition in the time designated below:

Round 2 –
16 finalists will perform at the Spring into Summer Festival in Oak Grove on the Beaver Country Junior Star Stage on Saturday, May 25.  Finals WILL NOT take place on the main stage of the Viceroy Performing Arts Center.  All contestants must check-in between 2-2:30pm, no later than 2:30pm.  The contest will begin at 3pm.  Each contestant will perform one full-length song with a track to be supplied by the contestant.  Must be instrumental or karaoke track.  No lead vocals will be allowed on track.  Also, contestants can use an instrument if they play it themselves. No other musicians other than those approved by WVVR will be allowed to perform.  Contestants will be scored based on vocal ability and stage presence.  For each, a scale of 1-10 will be used for each category with 10 being the most favorable.  The contestant with the highest cumulative score when combining all categories will be named the winner.  The judges will designate the Beaver Country Junior Star. The Judges’ decision is final.

If the initial grand prize winner is ineligible, the contestant rated second by the judges will be named the grand prize winner.

Each contestant must be represented by a Legal Guardian who
has a valid article of state identification and are 18 years of age or older at time of entry into the contest.  Employees of The Beaver 100.3/WVVR, the above sponsors, advertising agencies, affiliates; employees of other radio stations, and members of their immediate families are not eligible.

The Beaver 100.3/WVVR reserves the right to disqualify any entrant if these contest rules have been violated in any way.

By entering, each participant agrees that his or her voice, name, photograph, video of audition, other video recorded, caricature and/or likeness may be used by The Beaver 100.3/WVVR for promotional purposes. All Qualifiers agree to provide The Beaver 100.3/WVVR their name, address, phone number and social security number. Failure to supply required information renders Qualifier ineligible. This will ONLY be used for processing necessary information as it pertains to prizes. Prize winners agree to waive any claim of royalty, right of further remuneration for any such promotional use and agree not to appear on, or on behalf of, any other radio or television station within 50 miles of the The Beaver 100.3/WVVR main studio for a period of six (6) months after acceptance of prize.

Grand Prize value (1099 value) is: US $500.00

All winners assume financial obligations for local, state and federal taxes and all applicable fees based on the value of the prize. In accordance with IRS regulations, any winner receiving a prize(s) valued at $600 or more in a given calendar year is furnished a copy of IRS Form 1099 (miscellaneous income).

No purchase is necessary to participate or win. This contest is void where prohibited by law. The Grand Prize is not transferable or redeemable for cash.

The Beaver 100.3/WVVR is not responsible for technical problems due to telephones, problems associated with telephones, problems associated with www.beaver1003.com, mail, email delivery or internet access to www.beaver1003.com.

In the event the prize winner is subject to/of any order or legal process issued by any governmental agency having jurisdiction over the affairs of the winner (e.g., garnishment, child support order, judgment, lien, and the like) The Beaver 100.3/WVVR’s delivery of the Grand Prize to the official representative of the governmental entity claiming a right to the prize shall be deemed to be the award of the prize to the winner. The Beaver 100.3/WVVR shall be entitled to rely in good faith upon any documents presented by the representatives seeking to collect the prize in lieu of the winner. The Beaver 100.3/WVVR shall not be liable for any claim by winner for damages incidental thereto.

In order to claim prizes, all winners must sign a release form. By claiming prize and signing release form, winner releases The Beaver 100.3/WVVR from any and all claims, liabilities, and damages arising directly or indirectly out of the award and use of the prize. The Beaver 100.3/WVVR is not responsible for illness, death or injury, which may be sustained in conjunction with playing contest and in conjunction with the use and/or possession of any and all prizes awarded.

All prizes not claimed by July 31, 2013 are forfeited and remain (or become) the sole property of The Beaver 100.3/WVVR.

The Beaver 100.3/WVVR, affiliates, participating sponsors, their agencies and the like, or any member there of, make no claims of merchantability of Grand Prize. See manufacturer for complete warranty and operating instructions as it pertains to Grand Prize, if applicable.

Official contest rules are available at our 1640 Old Russellville Pike, Clarksville, TN  studios during regular business hours, on The Beaver 100.3/WVVR website at www.beaver1003.com and will air daily on The Beaver 100.3/WVVR for the duration of the contest.

As a licensee of the FCC and a trustee of the public airwaves, The Beaver 100.3/WVVR reserves the right to interrupt and/or discontinue any contest or promotion (and not award the offered prize) at the discretion of The Beaver 100.3/WVVR management if world events, the national mood, or public safety so warrant.
