Grand in Your Hand Rules

WVVR/Grand in Your Hand! Starting September 15-October 10, 2014 … Listen weekdays at approximately 8am to 3pm Central, up to three times a day, for the Contest Name text word.  When you hear the specified contest word you must text the correctly spelled word to 77000. Text entries for each contest play will be accepted until 10 minutes after (past) the hour, of each specific contest episode. WVVR may choose to announce a contest word more than one time during the permitted window, but there is no obligation to announce the word multiple times in any single contest play or in subsequent contest plays. Message and data rates may apply. One text per play.

WVVR will conduct this contest concurrently and simultaneously with radio stations affiliated with WVVR, and in various states.  Listeners of WVVR will, therefore, be competing with listeners of other radio stations to win the same prize. A station will be chosen at random from all the participating radio stations. Then a text received by that station will be chosen at random.  The cell phone number from the chosen text will be called and the reaction recorded for broadcast.  If unable to speak with the contestant who sent the text, within 5 minutes from the time that contestant’s cell number is dialed, then the $1,000 prize will be forfeited and another random text will be chosen with the same procedure until a winner is determined. When prompted by text message, listener must join the WVVR text club to be eligible for the $10,000 grand prize.  $5,000 will be awarded to the Grand Prize winner and $5,000 awarded to the Grand Prize winner’s charity of choice.  Charity is defined as “a non profit organization recognized as exempt from federal income tax; for example, under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code (eligibility to receive tax deductible charitable contributions.)  WVVR reserves the right, in its unlimited discretion to determine whether a designated Charity is exempt from federal income taxation and may require winner to designate a different Charity.  WVVR may also require the winner to provide documents to support such claim of tax exempt status.

Listener can ensure their membership in the text club by texting beaver to 77000.  All text club members as of October 10, 2014 4:30PM are eligible for the grand prize.  After 3:30 PM Central October 10 a grand prize winner station will be chosen at random from all participating radio stations. Then a text club member from that station will be chosen at random.  The cell phone number from the chosen text will be called and the reaction recorded for broadcast.  If unable to speak with the text club member, within 5 minutes from the time that contestant’s cell number is dialed, then the $10,000 grand prize will be forfeited and another random text member will be chosen with the same procedure until a winner is determined.  WVVR is not responsible for any difficulties contacting WVVR or entering the Contest, any malfunctions or errors, whether technical or typographical or human error, experienced due to overload, internet availability or texting server issues. Text messages are sent through third party providers; WVVR does not guarantee, and shall not be responsible for, the delivery or timeliness of any text message entry. Prize will be available within 10 business days. Be safe… Don’t text and drive
