Ultimate Country Music Getaway Rules


WVVR Text for a Country Getaway! Starting August 12, 2013 through 11:59pm September 2, 2013, WVVR will encourage listeners to text the word t-o-b-y to 77000 for a chance to win a trip for two to New York City on September 20, 2013 and to Boston, Massachusetts September 21 to See Drake White in concert. Message and data rates may apply. Prize Inlcudes:

  • Coach airfare for two from an airport selected by WVVR to New York on September 20th
  • 1 night accommodation in New York, specifications of the accommodation at the direction of WVVR
  • Two tickets to see Drake White in concert in New York City on September 20th with Justin Moore
  • Two Amtrak tickets, coach, from New York to Boston on September 21st,
  • 1 night accommodation in Boston, specifications of the accommodation at the direction of WVVR
  • Two tickets to see Drake White in concert in Boston on September 21st with Toby Keith and Kip Moore
  • Return coach airfare for two from Boston to home on September 22
  • (For Portland and Northampton only) Two Amtrak tickets, coach from Boston to home on September 22.

  • WVVR’s sole responsibility is to award the prize; therefore, WVVR will have no further responsibility in connection with the prize if the prize winner, for any reason cannot or decides not to fly to New York or train to Boston, to use the hotel      accommodations, or attend the shows.

The estimated retail value is $1,500. Actual value depends on the date/time/point of departure/destination and fluctuation of hotel rates and airfares.  Any difference between the stated actual retail value and actual value will not be awarded. Listeners can text at any time during the contest and with a limit of one text entry per day.  WVVR will conduct this contest concurrently and simultaneously with five other radio stations affiliated with WVVR, and in various states.  Listeners of WVVR will, therefore, be competing with listeners of five other radio stations to win the same prize.   On September 3, 2013 a station will be chosen at random from all the participating radio stations. Then a text received by that station will be chosen at random.  The cell phone number from the chosen text will be called at 8am on September 3rd and the reaction recorded for broadcast.  If we are unable to speak with the person who sent the text within 5 minutes after we call the contestant back, then the Prize will be forfeited and another random text will be chosen with the same procedure until a winner is determined. WVVR contests are open to all 18 or older have not won anything on WVVR in the past 30 days or any prize valued at $600 or more in the past 6 months. Only one winner per household is permitted within 30 days after a household has a winner. Any prize awarded to an ineligible listener will be deemed null and void, and an alternate eligible winner may be named.

Employees of WVVR, Saga Communications of Tuckessee, and its ultimate parent company, Saga Communications, Inc., their advertising agencies, affiliates, contest sponsors, employees and immediate families of each, and employees of all media of mass communication within a one hundred mile radius of the WVVR main studio are not eligible to win any contest.  Immediate family includes the spouse, great-grandparents, grandparents, parents, brothers, sisters, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren of the employee and his/her spouse. This also includes individuals for whom the employee is current legal guardian.
