Beginning at 1pm on Saturday, August 2, 2014 through 4:59PM on Saturday, August 16, 2014, persons may attempt to enter Beaver Country Star. One person will win $1,000 for a total prize value of $1,000. The contest is open to those who hold a valid article of state identification and are 18 years of age or older. Previous winners of Beaver Country Star/Idol may not enter.
HOW TO ENTER:
Contestants wishing to try out for Beaver Country Star must attend one of the scheduled Audition Stops. At each stop, contestants will be required to sing no more than 60 seconds of a song acapella (NO
BACKGROUND MUSIC OR BACKGROUND VOCALS). Contestants must use equipment provided for WVVR. Judges designated by The Beaver 100.3 FM will score each contestant. Judges may vary at each Audition Stop.
Contestants will be scored based on the following criteria: vocal ability & stage presence. Judges will score entrants on a scale of 1-10 for each category with 10 being the most favorable score and 1 being least favorable. Once all scores are recorded for each contestant in each category, a cumulative score for each will be determined. The 4 contestants that rank the highest based on cumulative score at each audition stop will be named finalists and be invited to perform in the finals at Riverfest on Saturday, September 7 in Clarksville.
Contestants not in the top 4 may attempt to try out at multiple audition stops. Contestants must arrive to register at each audition in the time designated for each Audition Stop.

12 finalists will perform at Riverfest in Clarksville on September 6 at a time to be announced on the Miller Light Stage. (Contestants should arrive at the Beaver tent near the stage at the designated time). Each contestant will perform one full-length song with a live band. Contestants will be required to attend a practice session with the band prior to the date of the finals. If a contestant does not attend practice, he or she will still be allowed to perform in the finals, but will forfeit any rehearsal time with the band. Contestants can use an instrument if they play it themselves. No other musicians other than those approved by WVVR will be allowed to perform. Aside from their playing their own instrument in the finals, Contestants must use equipment and band provided by WVVR. Contestants will be scored based on the following criteria: vocal ability & stage presence. WVVR contests are open to those 18 or older have not won anything on WVVR in the past 30 days or any prize valued at $600 or more in the past 6 months. Only one winner per household is permitted within 30 days after a household has a winner. Any prize awarded to an ineligible listener will be deemed null and void, and an alternate eligible winner may be named.
Employees of WVVR, SAGA COMMUNICATIONS OF TUCKESSEE, and its ultimate parent company, Saga Communications, Inc., their advertising agencies, affiliates, contest sponsors, employees and immediate families of each, and employees of all media of mass communication within a one hundred mile radius of the WVVR main studio are not eligible to win any contest. Immediate family includes the spouse, great-grandparents, grandparents, parents, brothers, sisters, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren of the employee and his/her spouse. This also includes individuals for whom the employee is current legal guardian.
