Country music couple Brantley Gilbert and Jana Kramer have split, sources tell People.

The couple, who were both nominated for best new artist at the Academy of Country Music Awards in April, were engaged to be married. Busy careers are to blame, the source explained.

“They are both so busy right now,” the source told People. “They are both on the road and have to spend a lot of time apart, which isn’t ideal for any couple, let alone a couple trying to plan a wedding.”

The couple announced their engagement in January after confirming they were dating in September 2012.

“There was no foul play involved, it’s nothing like that,” the source said.¬†“They were happy together but know what’s best.”

Kramer, 29, a former star of TV’s “One Tree Hill,” was previously married twice. One of those marriages lasted a month.
